Treibball is a competitive sport for dogs of all ages and sizes.

Treibball (pronounced try-ball) began in Germany to give energetic dogs some much needed mental and physical stimulation.  It is a great new way to play with your dog.  A competitive sport for dogs of all ages and sizes, it promotes better teamwork and communication between a dog and its handler. Treibball is fun for any dog who likes to chase, problem solve, needs a job or likes to herd. It also builds confidence for shy dogs and helps reactive dogs with impulse control.

For dogs who have completed The Puppy Perfectors Level 3 Obedience or have instructor permission.  Space is limited.

Equipment needed for Treibball class:
  • 2 x 2 foot mat (not a mat the dog uses as a “bed”); foam rubber mat or piece of carpet is ideal
  • Many small treats to use as rewards (light colored treats the best)
  • Exercise ball starting the 3rd week for beginners: height of ball approximately the height of the dog’s shoulder; higher okay for short dogs; shorter okay for tall dogs
